Crestbury Engineering had
the task of creating a stairway for access to this costal town quay-side.
When the tide was out, boat go 'ers would find it difficult to access
their vessels. Crestbury Engineering created a series of floating
pontoons which were attached the quay-side walls using an extremely
strong beam lifting mechanism. Whether the tide was in or out, the
pontoons would float safely above the water level at all times.
Crestbury Engineering designed a stairway on wheels to access the
pontoons. As you can see in the pictures provided, the stairway
would lift as the tide came in and lower as it went out. Getting
access to the vessels has now become a safe and simple task. |
